If we are to define “inspiration” it could probably best be described as a process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something – or, perhaps especially, to do something creative. In this context, inspiration really can come from everywhere and anywhere, which is why it´s important that we keep exposing ourselves to new ideas and perspectives.
Our Friday Inspiration Lunch series was started specifically with the above in mind, and from our belief that better input equals better output – this is how we grow!
”Poetry and Hums aren’t things which you get, they’re things which get you. And all you can do is go where they can find you.” — Winnie the Pooh
Our Friday Inspiration Lunches are meant to have more of a “round table” feel – rather than lecture style – and should always be conducted in a casual format and relaxed setting. Often, when gathering in the kitchen, we will treat our guest(s) to lunch and they will talk about their chosen topic. There will normally be no need for a projector or other equipment, as the aim is to inspire open discussion in an interactive session.
Obviously, we have great competences and inspiring personalities in-house and have already had several of “our own” feature at lunches, adding inspiring perspectives. In principle, however, our speakers/guests could be anyone with something to share. For example, we have had Joakim Jardenberg, head of internet in Helsingborg, do a battle with myself on the topic “I love the Internet vs. I hate the Internet”, we´ve had our own Niclas providing insights on photography tips while Kicki told us about creating amazing designs.
When it comes to choice of topics, the nature and purpose of the Friday Inspiration Lunch means that there really are no limitations – it´s all about sharing experience and insights, inspiring creativity, and gaining new perspectives. For example, topics ranging from ‘dancing the lindy-hop’ or ‘how to train your dragon’ to ‘using podcasts in your marketing’ can be equally good, since they all have the potential to make participants think differently – and to have fun in the process!
Basically, the value added through the Friday Inspiration Lunch sessions – apart from good spirits and a dose of communal laughter – is a “refueling” of the mind with new ideas and perspectives on the ways we do things or perhaps on a challenge being faced. These sessions are a great way to share energy and enthusiasm between members of our in-house team – and also to gain input from invited outside guests.
